Hugh has been involved in Gastric Wombats since the very beginning. In
fact it was Hugh that came up with the name of Gastric Wombat Systems
for a video project that he and JD worked on in Japan together for a short
while! Hugh currently lives in Japan and works from home as a technical author
for one of Japans leading electronics manufacturers. We're hoping to get a
better pic of Hugh and his wife Yoshiko in the near future, but 'til then,
this will have to do (By the way, the women in the pic isn't Hugh's wife,
she's the tea teacher!).

Dirk joined Gastric Wombats just before leaving Japan where he ran the
technology department of a French bank, sorry- Banque. Dirk still
works for the Banque, but now runs a much larger Technology department in
Paris. He has the nasty ability to instantly spot the only mistake you have
made in the entire 300 page proposal you just spent six weeks preparing and
kicks you out of his office to re-write it, all after 30 seconds of reading.
His insight into management and corporate strategy are razor sharp. Dirk is
perhaps best known for his heart warming animal stories relating to management
theory.
Ask him how to "put up an omlette"!

Finbarr Saunders, better known as John Douglas. One of John's great passions
is photography. Seen here, the intrepid Finbarr
Saunders is working as ships' photographer aboard the Russian cruise liner
"MV Bellorussia" whose home port is Odessa.
"My nick-name of Finbarr Saunders came from the British mag Viz, Jeff
(the other photographer) started calling me Finbarr, and the name just kind of
stuck..." says John.

Glenn joined Gastric Wombats while corporate headquarters were still in
Nagoya. Glenn is a dedicated cybergeek, and yet doesn't let technology
interfere with his completely "off-the-wall"
lifestyle of eating nothing but rabbit food and sticking cones of
wax into unsuspecting peoples ear cavities. Glenn has recently conspired
with Keiko (his charming and long suffering wife) to bring into the world S?,
who joins brother, Kai Fraser. Congratulations Gleko! (Glenn + Keiko for
the slower amongst you).

Specialist, Motorcyclist and Adventurer
Fred is the President of "Marsupial de Gastrique"
the Belgian branch of Gastric Wombats. Currently living near Guildford in
England, and nowhere near Liege, in his native Belgium, Fred is seen here
standing on top of Kitadake, Japans 2nd highest mountain. Fred went on to
climb three 3000 meter peaks in three days! He also scuba-dives, enjoys
rock-climbing and is one of those annoying people who has the ability to
pick-up the prettiest looking women in any bar in less than ten minutes.
But! That's all over now! Fred has recently set-up house with Sue and their
two charming little boys, so it's loads of DIY for Fred, and interminable
walks in the hills for Sue!

Tomoko & Reiji joined the Gastric Wombat family late in the last millennium
and comprise the entire Okinawan branch! Both are heavily involved in
researching Okinawa's unique culture, the fruits of which we should see here
soon in the form of some exceptional photography of the island. Tomoko is a
dedicated photographer and a great asset to our Photographic Division.

Director and Head of Corporate Partying
Mal takes his job very seriously and can often be found practicing at
Magumbo's or Geronimo's in Roppongi in Tokyo. In the photo above, we see Mal
taking a short party-break to relax. Whilst he is a very experienced scuba
diver, this was his first skydive however, and he forgot to bring a parachute.
Just as well he was diving over water! Mal has recently complemented his 110%
personality by joining for life with his partner, Lenne. Len also has a 110%
personality, meaning that by simply being in the same room together you get
220%, or two normal adults and a raging six year old.
This should be avoided. Mal/Lenne (Malenne?) currently thrive
in Tokyo.

Doug is another member of the Kakegawa mafia, and has been involved in
Gastric Wombats since the very beginning. Doug brings high
level technology skills to bear in his work as head of Gastric Wombat Systems
(NZ). Doug is an accomplished sound engineer and mixes sound for both studio
work and live performances from international bands visiting New Zealand.
Doug is a very tall person and has the scariest sneeze I have ever
witnessed!

Photography
Mari is the brains behind Gastric Wombats, and runs the companies
extensive London based photo processing labs. Also mad keen about photography,
Mari can often be found snapping pics of doors that catch her eye. "One
reason I like doors, is that they don't move about, and they don't mind if I
take their photo!" she remarked.

Sachiko in downtown Nagoya

Sachiko has such a busy life, she barely has time to oversee operations
at Gastric Wombats in Nagoya, Japan, which she heads. Sachiko is actively
involved in a government legal think-tank based at Nagoya University, and is a
technical consultant to both the Yamaha Motor company and Toyota.
Sachiko is single, and will consider any serious proposal, and now you
can mail these directly to her!

Mark joined Gastric Wombats very early on and has been a source of
inspiration and elucidation from day one. One of three people whom I know, who
all remember the original IBM PC and has in a box somewhere, some spare parts
for the one they used to own. The other sad part to this is that the other two
people who fit this category are also listed on this page! Mark lives in Tokyo
where he is the President of Gastric Wombat Systems (Japan).

It was in Woz's house that Gastric Wombats actually came into being,
with the very first programming job being completed at the Gastric Wombat
Systems (Australia) offices in the Blue Mountains just 2 minutes from downtown
Sydney*. Woz and Glenys (pictured above) spec, assemble, deliver and support
desktop computer workstations to a growing client base in Australia.
They have an amateur interest in fire-fighting (as does everyone who
lives where they do).
